Seattle Sounders FC Forward Eddie Johnson Voted MLS Player of the Week
NEW YORK (Monday, September 10, 2012)– Seattle Sounders FC Forward Eddie Johnson was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 27 of the 2012 MLS season.
Johnsonscored a brace on Saturday night, leading Seattle Sounders FC to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Chivas USA. He now has 13 goals on the year, setting a club record for goals scored in a single season.

The award is the fifth of Johnson’s MLS career, having garnered the honor in Week 22, as well as three times during the 2007 season with the then Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting Kansas City). He is the second Seattle player to be voted MLS Player of the Week this season, after David Estrada in Week Two.
