Matchups Set for Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs Conference Championships
Conference Championships kick off Tuesday, November 22
NEW YORK, NY (November 6, 2016) – The Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs Conference Championships matchups are set following the conclusion of the Conference Semifinals.  The winners of the two-game, aggregate-goal, Conference Championships will advance to the 2016 MLS Cup which will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 8 p.m. ET (FOX, UniMás, TSN, and RDS).
Both Eastern and Western Conference Championships first leg matches will be played on Tuesday, November 22 at the home of the lower-seeded teams. The second leg of the Western Conference Championship series will be played on Sunday, November 27 and the second leg of the Eastern Conference Championship series will be played on Wednesday, November 30, both at the home of the higher-seeded teams. The full schedule for the Conference Championships is listed below.
The Conference Championships are two-leg, aggregate goal series. If the series is tied after two legs, the team with the most away goals will advance. If the total goals and away goals are equal, then an additional 30 minutes (two 15 minute periods) of added extra time will be played in its entirety. Away goals do not count in extra time. If the score is still tied after extra time, the match will be decided by kicks from the penalty spot in accordance to FIFA’s Laws of the Game.

Thursday, October 27:
  •          Eastern Conference: D.C. United 2 – 4 Montreal Impact
  •          Western Conference: Seattle Sounders FC 1 – 0 Sporting Kansas City

  • New York City FC 0 – 5 Toronto FC (Toronto advance 7-0 on aggregate goals)
  • FC Dallas 2 – 1 Seattle Sounders FC (Sounders advance 4-2 on aggregate goals)
